Purchasing Activity
Wisconsin's new Contract Sunshine Act took effect on June 1, 2006
(s.16.753, Wisconsin Statutes, created by 2005 Act 410). The Act
requires each state agency to report to the Ethics Board information
about contracts, purchases, change orders, and requests for bids
and proposals of $10,000 or more in the current fiscal biennium.
The intent of the legislation is to enhance the public's confidence
in the State's procurement process by providing a one-stop Internet
location where citizens, the press, vendors, and others can easily
learn about current procurement activities and the expenditure of
public funds.
