Employer Communication Center Number Reminder
Employer Interactive Voice Response System
New 24-Hour Automated Telephone Service for Participants

Take Advantage of ETF's Employer Communication Center Call (608) 264-7900

Since January 1998, the Employe Trust Fund's (ETF) Division of Employer Services has provided employers with an Employer Communications Center. The Center's telephone number is (608) 264-7900. You should consider the Center your single point of contact to resolve issues regarding eligibility and enrollment for all ETF benefit programs. Center staff will respond to all general inquiries from employers. In some cases, your call may be transferred by the Employer Communication Center to another section of DES or other divisions of ETF. Other DES employes may need to call you to resolve a particular processing question and you may be asked to return calls to a specific person.

The Employer Communication Center does not replace the services provided to participants in ETF's Division of Retirement Services. Your employes must continue to call (608) 266-3285 in Madison or (414) 227-4294 in Milwaukee if they have questions regarding their own accounts; employes may also use our new 24-hour Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Self-Service Line (see page three).

New Interactive Voice Response System Improves, Enhances WRS Contribution Payment Process

ETF plans to implement a new Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system in the near future. This system will allow Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) employers to report and pay their monthly retirement contributions in an efficient and timely manner. The IVR serves as an alternative to the current process of completing Monthly Retirement Remittance Reports (ET-1515) and mailing payments to the State Bank. Instead, the IVR system will process payments in the following manner:

  • WRS employers dial a toll-free telephone number to access the IVR System.
  • IVR voice menus allow employers to submit Monthly Retirement Remittance Report contribution information.
  • The IVR process verifies contribution rate calculations by employment category online. This will reduce the number of over/under notices issued.
  • IVR menus will enable employers to report additional contributions as well as payments or credits on invoices issued by ETF.
  • The IVR system verifies the total WRS monthly payment with the employer and generate a copy of the Monthly Retirement Remittance Report (ET-1515) that will be faxed or mailed to the employer for their records.
  • Once the process is complete, ETF collects the contribution amount from the employer's bank account via an Automated Clearing House (ACH) transaction. This collection will be completed on the last business day of the month unless the employer designates an earlier or a later collection date. A later collection date will result in a late interest charge to the employer.

Questions about the IVR System can be directed to Dale Ferron at (608) 266-0728.
