New ICI and LTDI Administrator Announced

The State of Wisconsin Group Insurance Board (GIB) has selected CORE, INC. to administer the Income Continuation Insurance (ICI) and Long-Term Disability Insurance (LTDI) for the Wisconsin Retirement System beginning January 2, 2001. CORE, INC. is a nationwide disability and health care management company. The administrative services they provide will be handled through their Los Angeles location. The CORE telephone number will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During non-regular business hours, the person can leave a message that will be handled the next business day. CORE'S telephone number and e-mail address effective January 2, 2001 will be: telephone #: 1-800-960-0052; e-mail address: ICI_LTDI@COREINC.com.

The contract with current ICI and LTDI administrator, United Wisconsin Insurance Company (UWIC), will end December 31, 2000. UWIC will forward any materials sent by employers after that date to CORE.

As of January 2, 2001, CORE, INC. will take over management of ICI and LTDI open claims, process pending claims and accept new claims using the current paper-based process. Employers will continue to submit all ICI and LTDI paperwork, including ICI Enrollment applications and ICI Evidence of Insurability applications to the Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF).

Effective March 1, 2001, the ICI and LTDI claims process will become virtually paperless. An employee will initiate an ICI or LTDI claim through a telephone call to a CORE customer service representative. CORE will be contacting employers through e-mail and the telephone to obtain relevant ICI and LTDI employer-related claim information. Therefore, it is important that ETF and CORE have accurate, up-to-date employer's ICI and LTDI contact information including e-mail addresses. Information about the specific process CORE will be using will be distributed closer to March 1, 2001.

Please provide the following information to ETF by December 22, 2000. If your ICI or LTDI contact changes after December 22, 2000, please supply ETF with the new contact information. When supplying this information, you can:
