ICI Deferred Enrollment Period Ends January 30

The annual Income Continuation Insurance (ICI) deferred enrollment period ends on January 30, 1999. The deferred enrollment provision allows eligible employes the opportunity to enroll for ICI coverage based on accumulated sick leave without furnishing proof of insurability.

Since the enrollment deadline falls on a Saturday, applications will be due on Friday, January 29, 1999. Coverage for those who enroll during this period will be effective April 1, 1999. Eligibility requirements are explained in section 3.01 of the ICI Employer Administration Manual (ET-1119).

Annual Premium Updates

In addition to the deferred enrollment period, please remember to complete the annual premium updates for ICI in January for an effective date of February 1, 1999. These updates reflect basic salary (excluding overtime) and accumulated sick leave in the last complete pay period of the previous calendar year (December 21, 1997 through December 19, 1998).
