Revised Wisconsin Public Employer Group Life Insurance
Plan Booklet
The Wisconsin Public Employers
Group Life Insurance brochure (ET-2101) has been updated. Minor
changes to the language clarify current policy. The revised booklet
includes the following policy changes:
- Changes to the Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D)
limitations and requirements (Sections 6B and 6C) reflect new
contract language approved by the Group Insurance Board (GIB).
In addition, the GIB strengthened the AD&D subsequent loss
language (Section 6A) to clarify that only one AD&D claim
payment will be made for each loss or loss of use of the same
limb.
- Revisions to the Living Benefits provisions (Section 8) eliminate
benefits that are payable to the chronically ill under the confinement
or hospice options. The Living Benefits coverage is available
only to employees diagnosed with a terminal condition with a life
expectancy of 12 months or less. The GIB approved this change
to ensure that the Living Benefits provisions comply with the
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- New language clarifies that employees may continue coverage
while on military leave (Section 9A.)
