Conducts Audit of Rehired Annuitants
The Legislative Audit Bureau requested that ETF distribute
the following message to WRS local employers.
On December 8, 2011, the Joint Legislative Audit Committee directed
the Legislative Audit Bureau to conduct an audit of the practice
of employing rehired annuitants. This audit was noted in the Vol.
29, No. 2, January 27, 2012 Employer Bulletin.
As part of the audit, the Legislative Audit Bureau is surveying
all local government and school district employers to gather information
about Wisconsin Retirement System annuitants they hired from January
1, 2011, through March 31, 2012. During the week of May 7, 2012,
the Legislative Audit Bureau mailed its survey. If you have received
the survey, please complete it online or by mailing it back to the
Legislative Audit Bureau. The information collected in the survey
will be used to inform the Legislature regarding the practice of
employing rehired annuitants.
