Updates to myETF Benefits

On the evening of March 26, 2014, ETF will deploy the following updates to myETF Benefits:

ETF has completed a project to better manage coordination of benefits for other health insurance and Medicare enrollment by entering into a Voluntary Data Sharing Agreement (VDSA), which allows us to share our group health insurance eligibility data with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS in turn provides us with the Medicare eligibility and enrollment information for our members. In January, ETF began sharing with CMS group health insurance eligibility and enrollment information for all state and WPE members.

New Medicare information received via the VDSA from CMS is now being updated and/or added to the Other Health Insurance section of the Health Insurance Enrollment Covered Individual screen in MEBs.
Employers and subscribers can expect to see the following information in the required fields:

  • Medicare Part A (hospital coverage) and
  • Medicare Part B (medical coverage)
    • Termination Date

  • Medicare Part D (Enrollment in prescription drug plan) and
  • Medicare Part C (Enrollment in the Medicare Advantage Plan)
    • Effective Date
    • Termination Date
    • Contractor Number
      The Navitus MedicareRx (PDP) plan Contractor Number is S4802.

  • Medicare Blank Reason: We now have the ability to create health insurance contracts with only partial Medicare information. If not all Medicare information is entered—Medicare Parts A and B effective dates and Health Insurance Claim Number—then the system will require you to enter a reason.

  • End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD):
    • Coordination Period Start Date
    • Coordination Period End Date

    The ESRD Coordination Period is a 30-month period where an employer based plan will pay primary to Medicare. At the end of the coordination period, Medicare would take over as the primary insurer.

In addition, if you or a member are making updates within myETFBenefits, the system will now require a "yes” or “no” response to questions about the member’s, and their dependents’, other health insurance coverage and Medicare eligibility/enrollment.
