Important Information regarding the
ACAís Transitional Reinsurance Fee
This notice is to make employers aware that participating health plans and ETF will pay the Affordable Care Actís (ACAís) transitional reinsurance fees on your behalf. Contributing entities, such as health insurers and sponsors of self-funded health plans, must register and submit data to a federal website by November 15, 2014. You need take no action.
This fee applies to non-Medicare members. The first payment is currently scheduled to be due no later than January 15, 2015.
The 2015 health insurance premiums include the transitional reinsurance fee of $63 per non-Medicare member. The alternate health plans will pay this fee for their fully insured non-Medicare members. ETF will pay this fee for self-insured non-Medicare members, that is, members in the Standard and SMP plans.
Note, this fee diminishes over time and is eliminated after three years under current law.
