Security Health Plan - Central1-800-472-2363 or 715-221-9555
What’s New for 2017
Security Health Plan - Central's service area will no longer include Shawano, Waushara and Waupaca counties. Confirm your provider availability for 2017 and see the new Security Health Plan - Valley for more information.
We are pleased to announce that for 2017, Security Health Plan will offer health coverage in two networks, the existing Central Plan Network as well as the all-new Valley Plan Network. This means that in 2017, providers who are part of ThedaCare or Bellin Health Partners will only be available within the Valley Network.
If you or your family members need services from ThedaCare or Bellin Health Partners, you will need to enroll in the Valley Network before November 11, 2016. ThedaCare and Bellin Health providers will be considered out-of-network in 2017 for the current Central Network.
You can view a list of providers available in our 2017 networks by using our Find a Doctor tools at www.securityhealth.org/statecentral.
Visit securityhealth.org/state and click on “Central - Find a Doctor” to access a provider directory. To request a printed directory be mailed to you, call customer service at 1-800-472-2363.
Referrals, Prior Authorizations, Out-of-Network Care
Security Health Plan requires a referral for seeing certain specialists. View a complete list on our website or call our customer service team at 1-800-472-2363. Security Health Plan also requires a referral and approval for services received from a non-network provider. Services from a non-network provider without prior authorization are not reimbursed.
A number of services require prior authorization. That is, you and your provider must contact us before the service is delivered. You will receive written notification of the approval or denial for the prior authorization. If you are unsure if a service, test or procedure requires prior authorization or a referral, contact 1-800-472-2363 prior to the appointment, or visit securityhealth.org for a complete listing of services that require prior authorization.
The following services require you to participate in Shared Decision-Making:
Shared Decision-Making provides you with information about the surgery you’re considering, including the risks and benefits, as well as alternatives to surgery.

Follow-up care must be received from an in-network provider unless otherwise approved by Security Health Plan.
Mental, Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse
You may see any provider in the network for mental/behavioral health care. You do not need a referral or authorization.
