The IYC 2018 open enrollment period for the State and Local Group Health Insurance Program is October 2-27, 2017. This is when you can make changes for next year, including switching health plans, changing coverage levels, adding supplemental benefits or adding/removing certain dependents, for an effective date of January 1, 2018. Watch for your open enrollment materials at the end of September.
If you are currently enrolled in any of the following health plans, you will need to choose a new plan for 2018:
Anthem Blue Preferred Northeast
Arise Health Plan
Health Tradition Health Plan
Humana Eastern and Western, including Medicare Advantage
UnitedHealthcare of Wisconsin
WPS – Contract ends December 31, 2017. Members will be auto-enrolled with the new administrator, WEA Trust, if they do not choose a new plan during open enrollment.
Gundersen Health Plan, Physicians Plus and Unity (Community and UW) have merged to form “Quartz”. If you are currently enrolled in one of these plans you will be auto-enrolled in Quartz for 2018 unless you choose a new plan during open enrollment.

You are a state employee if you work or have retired from any state agency (including STAR and non-STAR), University of Wisconsin, UW Hospital & Clinics, or legislature.
You are a local employee if you work or have retired from a municipality such as a city, township, village, school district or technical college.

The State of Wisconsin Group Health Insurance Program is available to state of Wisconsin employees, retired state of Wisconsin employees (annuitants), members with continuation coverage (continuants) and University of Wisconsin graduate assistants.
