What’s New for 2018
Medical Associates Health Plans (MAHP) is committed to helping its members save on their healthcare costs. My e-Link, a personal member portal, is a free resource available to help you actively manage your claims and benefit information and keep track of your healthcare costs. With My e-Link, you can stay connected with MAHP from any computer or mobile phone with resources available at your fingertips 24/7.
MAHP has recently added health coaches to its staff. They work in collaboration with your physician to provide guidance and community resources for members with lifestyle issues such as obesity and smoking cessation.
Go to mahealthcare.com/insurance-services to access a provider directory. Click on “Provider Directory” then enter the Employer Group Number found on your medical card. If you are not currently a MAHP member, simply type “wisesample” to view. To request a printed directory be mailed to you, call 1-866-821-1365.
Referrals, Prior Authorizations, Out-of-Network Care
Referrals are not needed when receiving care from in-network providers. Prior authorization is required for certain services, procedures and for out-of-network providers prior to receiving care. When a referral or prior authorization is requested, you will receive a written notification of the approval or denial. If you are unsure if a service, test or procedure requires prior authorization or a referral out of the network, contact 1-800-325-7442 prior to your appointment.
MAHP recognizes UW Health | University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics (UWHC) as a preferred referral center when care cannot be provided by an in-network provider. Prior authorization would be required for any services provided by UWHC.
Crawford, Grant, Iowa and Lafayette counties.
Emergency and Urgent Care Outside Service Area
If you require emergency or urgent care when outside of the network, seek care at the nearest medical facility. Contact Health Care Services at 1-800-325-7442 or your primary care physician if assistance is needed to determine the appropriate level of care. Follow-up care must be received from an in-network provider unless otherwise approved by MAHP.
Mental, Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse Services
No prior authorization or referral is required for outpatient services from a MAHP in-network provider. Prior authorization may be required for inpatient services and transitional care. For additional details and services, contact 1-800-325-7442
