Reimbursement Over-The-Counter (OTC)
Medicines and Drugs
Certain categories of OTC drugs that are eligible
for reimbursement through the ERA Medical Expense Reimbursement
Account. The OTC drugs and supplies must be purchased for use by
you, your spouse and/or dependents to treat a specific medical condition
and in quantities intended for use in the same plan year in which
you claim reimbursement for their cost.
To request reimbursement for OTC drugs, submit receipts that clearly
state the purchase date and name of the drug or supply along with
your ERA Reimbursement Request form to Fringe Benefits Management
Company (FBMC).* Some examples of OTC items, medicines and drugs
that are eligible for reimbursement include:

Bandages, gauze pads, rubbing alcohol, liquid adhesives
Carpel tunnel wrist supports
Cold/hot packs for injuries

Eye products (including reading glasses, contact lens cleaning
solutions)
First aid kits
Hemorrhoid treatments
Laxatives
Motion sickness treatments
Nicotine gum or patches for smoking cessation purposes
Thermometers
Wart removers

You may wish to keep copies of your OTC purchases even if they
are not on the list at this time. You may submit a copy of your
receipt at a later date if a previously ineligible OTC expense becomes
eligible for reimbursement later in the same plan year.
