Public Employee Retirement Benefit Presentation

The Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF) has posted on its Internet site a recording of one of its Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) benefit presentations. Participants and others interested in viewing one of these popular presentations can do so anytime day or night from the comfort of home –- or any location with Internet access. The taped, two-hour presentation covers WRS retirement, separation and survivor benefits as well as health and life insurance. This presentation was given to an audience of state employees. Topics exclusive to local government and protective category employees are not covered in depth.

NOTE: The required number of hours for one full year of service credit for all employees other than teachers is 1904. This is a correction to a slide in the description of formula calculations in this presentation.

Minimum technical requirements for viewing the presentation:

• You must have a computer with 16+ MB RAM and a sound card. You will also need a Web browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape and streaming player software such as Windows Media Player 9.0 (click here for a free version).
• Internet connection: Dial-up modems need to be a minimum of 56 kbps. If you have DSL or Cable (broadband) connections, you should encounter no problems.
