Would you like to know how purchasing certain types of creditable
service can increase your retirement benefit? Check out Buying
WRS Creditable Service, another of ETF’s online video

service is, when you are eligible to buy it, and the advantages
of buying service. In addition, the program shows you how to calculate
the cost of purchasing service with ETF’s online calculator,
how to obtain formal cost estimates from the Department, and how

Minimum Technical Requirements for Viewing the Presentations
A webcast is the transmission of sound and images via the Internet.
Through the use of Mediasite technology, the Department of Employee
Trust Funds (ETF) is producing webcasts that enable Wisconsin Retirement
System (WRS) members and employers to participate in or view presentations,
training sessions, and other ETF-sponsored events that they would
not be able to attend in person. ETF archives these webcasts for
future viewing. To view a webcast, please make sure your computer
meets all of the following requirements:
- You must have a computer with 16+ MB RAM and a sound card with
speakers or headphones to view and listen to a webcast. A streaming
player software, such as Windows Media Player, and a web browser,
such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 (or higher) or Netscape,
are also required. If you are using older versions, please visit
Microsoft’s Internet
site for assistance.
- Internet connection: DSL or Cable (broadband) connections work
well. For dial-up, modems need to be a minimum of 56 kbps.
