Group Insurance Board to Consider Several RFPs
The Group Insurance Board (GIB) will consider an array of recommendations that include completing and releasing four Request for Proposals this year and no new benefit changes for 2017, except a wellness benefit carve-out, at its meeting on February 17.
Based on earlier direction provided by the GIB, ETF is recommending the following RFPs:
- Evaluate Self-Insurance
- Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence
- Wellness Program
- Pharmacy Benefit Manager
Last fall, the board’s health care benefits consultant, Segal Consulting, researched the financial impact of self-insurance and echoed earlier recommendations made by Deloitte that an RFP is needed to evaluate program structure options along with associated costs and potential savings. The state currently self-insures pharmacy, dental and a small portion of health insurance coverage.
The board meeting will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Lussier Family Heritage Center, 3101 Lake Farm Rd, in Madison. View the meeting agenda and materials.
ETF anticipates that WisconsinEye will be covering the meeting via webcast.
