Ellinger to Step Down from Director Post

ETF announces the departure of Lisa Ellinger, Director of the Office of Strategic Health Policy, who is leaving to pursue a professional opportunity in the private sector. Ellinger will transition from her post in February. Plans are underway to begin recruitment for a replacement.

Ellinger manages the administration of the State of Wisconsin Group Health Insurance Program, a $1.5 billion fully-insured program with 250,000 members, and directs health policy under the oversight of the Group Insurance Board. The group health insurance program is an employer-sponsored program offering group health coverage to employees and retirees of state agencies, UW System, UW Hospital and Clinics Authority, and participating local government employers.

"Lisa's leadership and work with the Group Insurance Board designed a health insurance program that has successfully contained costs, and positioned it to make further advancements in providing quality, value and improved health outcomes for our members," said Secretary Robert Conlin. "We appreciate her dedicated service and wish her all the best in her new endeavors."

"I truly value the opportunities that have come my way the past 10 years at ETF and the relationships I have built with staff, the Group Insurance Board, across government and the health care industry. It has been a great honor to lead programs that are meaningful and impactful to so many individuals, and the state as a whole," said Ellinger.

Ellinger has been at ETF since 2008 and in public service for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining ETF, Ellinger was the Assistant Director for the Wisconsin Health Project. She also served as a Policy Advisor for The New Hope Project and the Office of Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle.
