Fisher Named to Employee Trust Funds Board
MADISON -- Department of Employee Trust Funds Secretary Eric Stanchfield
is pleased to announce Theron B. Fisher, of Onalaska, has been elected
to the Employee Trust Funds Board, to fill the Wisconsin Retirement
System (WRS) annuitants' seat.
Fisher worked for eight years in student personnel at the University
of Wisconsin-La Crosse and 23 years as La Crosse County Director
of Parks. He will take the place of James Gruentzel, of Waunakee,
whose term expires in May. Fisher will serve on the ETF Board until
May 2007.
About the ETF Board
The 13-member ETF Board has legal and fiduciary responsibilities
relating to the administration of the Wisconsin Retirement System
(WRS). Wisconsin law dictates ETF Board responsibilities, including:
- Ensuring the WRS complies with federal regulations as a tax
qualified retirement plan and guaranteeing that each benefit plan
is administered according to these rules;
- Appointing the ETF Secretary; and
- Retaining the medical, legal, and actuarial assistance necessary
to run the system.
