During the Annual Benefits Enrollment (ABE)

Visit the ABE website for information on the Annual Benefits Enrollment (ABE), to find out what is changing and resources available. Remember to visit ALEX an interactive decision-support tool that can help you choose plans that make the most sense for you and your family.

After reviewing your benefit options, enroll in your benefits in the MyUW portal. After logging in, go to the Benefit Information module and then click on the Enrollment link.

During this period you can enroll or make changes to:

  • Health Insurance (including adding or declining Uniform Dental)
  • Supplemental Dental (by Delta Dental)
  • Supplemental Vision Insurance (by DeltaVision)
  • Accident Insurance Plan (by Securian)
  • Pre-Tax Savings Accounts (by ConnectYourCare)
    • Health Care Flexible Spending Account
    • Dependent Day Care Account
    • Health Savings Accounts
    • Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account
    • Parking Account
    • Transit Account

Changes in coverage become effective January 1, 2021.

Note: You may have different supplemental plans available. Check with your human resources/benefits office for details and instructions. 


When You are a New Hire

Visit the UW System Employee Benefits website for information on benefit plans available. Visit ALEX, an interactive decision-support tool that can help you choose plans that make the most sense for you and your family.

After reviewing your benefit options, enroll in your benefits in the MyUW portal. After logging in, go to the Benefit Information module and then click on the Enrollment link.

Important: Enrollments must be completed within 30 days of your eligibility date.

Graduate Assistants: If this is not your first eligible appointment, you may still be eligible for the initial 30-day enrollment period if you have a 30-day employment break between appointments.

When you Experience a Life Change Event

To enroll or make changes to your benefits due to a qualifying life event, you will need to complete and submit paper applications to your human resources office within the designated time frame.
