Delivery services are taking necessary precautions during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, their confirmation of receipt procedures have temporarily changed.
For the health and privacy of our employers and members, ETF has postponed the delivery of the Wisconsin Retirement System Annual Statement of Benefits (dated January 1, 2020) to local governments until delivery services are again offering signature confirmation for secure delivery of the bundled boxes of employee statements. Alternative plans and methods of distribution are also being discussed and vetted internally. Further communication will be sent as soon as a timeline for Statement of Benefits distribution is determined. (Local government employers include cities, townships, villages, school districts, or technical colleges.)
Please know that our call center staff are well-equipped to work from home during the upcoming weeks, but they are unable to speed up this process. We ask that you relay this message to WRS participants at your respective agency, and that we all exercise the patience and caution needed to get us through this unprecedented time.
Regarding future year’s statements, ETF will reach out to you to discuss direct mail options for your employees, which would streamline this process for you and your employers. ETF is also working towards providing the statements online for employees, but that is further out.
