The Department of Employee Trust Funds Secretary is seeking two individuals to complete its executive team by filling the Deputy Secretary and Assistant Deputy Secretary positions.

The executive team is composed of the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Assistant Deputy Secretary. The team is expected to have a strategic focus in order to advance innovation, assess risks, anticipate future needs and opportunities, and seek to ensure the organization meets its mission to develop and deliver quality benefits and services to its customers while safeguarding the integrity of the Trust.

Members of the executive team will work together and take an enterprise-wide view of their individual and team functions. They will also model for the entire organization ways to break down silos and develop solutions to business problems together. 

The general responsibilities are as follows:

  • Deputy Secretary – Under the general supervision of the Secretary, the Deputy Secretary serves as the Chief Operating Officer, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations. In the absence of the Secretary, the Deputy Secretary would exercise the powers, duties and functions of the Secretary.
  • Assistant Deputy Secretary – Under the general supervision of the Secretary, the Assistant Deputy Secretary oversees external communications and works directly with select division administrators and office directors in advancing agency goals.

Qualified candidates will have five years of administrative management experience and possess the following competencies. Highly qualified candidates will have an understanding of employee benefit programs and the principles of fiduciary responsibilities.
