Prior Service Unfunded Liability

Service that a WRS employer may purchase on behalf of its employees for service the employee has worked at the employer prior to the employer coming under the WRS. The actuarially determined cost of this service, if purchased, is billed to the employer as either a lump sum payment or as an added portion to the employer’s agreement rate as a percentage of employee payroll.
