Section 40.05 (4g), Wis. Stat., provides additional months of state contribution toward health insurance premiums for certain military service personnel who receive a military leave of absence or are eligible for reemployment under Wis. Stat. § 321.64.
Under certain circumstances, reciprocity may increase the retirement benefits payable to you if you worked for one or more participating public retirement systems.

Notice for members where all or a portion of a payment from the WRS is eligible to be rolled over to an individual retirement account (IRA) or an employer plan.
The changes consolidate the separate standard and supplemental coverage levels into a single coverage level. The goal is a simplified program that is easier to understand and administer.
Review changes that will simplify the Income Continuation Insurance Program for state and local employees, effective in 2024. Coverage and benefits also have been expanded to employees aged 70 or older.
