The State of Wisconsin Group Health Insurance Program (GHIP) provides uniform health benefits to both state agencies and local government entities. Nearly a dozen health plans participate in the GHIP providing coverage to nearly one-quarter million lives.

ETF provides updated Social Security and Medicare wage bases for 2025. This information applies to all WRS employers and all other public employers in Wisconsin that provide Social Security coverage for their employees under Wisconsin’s Section 218 Agreement.
The WRS is a pension plan that is open to any public employer as defined by Wis. Stat. § 40.02(28). All employers joining the WRS must be covered by Wisconsin’s Section 218 Agreement with the SSA. The WRS is intended to provide a lifetime annuity to members who are vested and have reached minimum retirement age.
