ETF will, consistent with the state’s Public Records Law, provide information regarding ETF’s affairs, except for individual personal information restricted by statute.
Your WRS account information is confidential, and no one can receive information about or make changes to your account unless authorized. You can authorize another person to make changes to your account by submitting a financial power of attorney document to ETF.
Some members can receive WRS creditable service for part or all of their active U.S. Military service. This additional service may increase your WRS retirement, disability and certain death benefits.

Your financial power of attorney document determines the scope of your agent's authority. You may give your agent the ability to make many changes to your WRS account or limit them to a few actions.

Wisconsin law allows ETF to release personal information to a third party if the member has first provided ETF with a valid written authorization. Use this form to authorize the release of non-medical information.
Each time a guardian makes a request on behalf of a member, ETF will review the Letters of Guardianship of the Estate. The request will be approved or denied based on the authority granted in the letters.
