Many insurance companies and brokers offer benefits like health, disability, dental, or other insurances. These companies or brokers may approach you to offer additional or new benefits and may state they work with the Department of Employee Trust Funds or the Wisconsin Retirement System, even though they have no connection with either. As a Wisconsin Public Employer (WPE), please be aware of the benefits available to you through ETF to avoid any confusion or misinformation provided by these companies.
ETF-administered benefit programs for participating local employers include:
- Retirement and disability retirement (WRS)
- Health insurance
- Uniform Dental insurance
- Supplemental dental insurance
- Supplemental vision insurance
- Accident Plan
- Life insurance
- Income continuation insurance
ETF also offers an optional, supplemental retirement savings plan called the Wisconsin Deferred Compensation (WDC) program.
You can visit the Benefits Provided by ETF page for a listing of all benefits administered by ETF.
You can also contact your case manager or the ETF Employer Communication Center at ETFSMBEmployerInsurance@etf.wi.gov with questions or to verify coverage.
Please visit the Employers section of the ETF website for information on WRS and insurance program information for employers. ETF also provides training for employers on the WRS and other ETF-administered benefits. To register for live online trainings, recorded online trainings, or interactive e-learnings, visit the Employer Training page.
