The WRS is a pension plan that is open to any public employer as defined by Wis. Stat. § 40.02(28). All employers joining the WRS must be covered by Wisconsin’s Section 218 Agreement with the SSA. The WRS is intended to provide a lifetime annuity to members who are vested and have reached minimum retirement age.

The Well Wisconsin Program achieved a significant first in 2023 by attaining its goal of surpassing 50,000 participants earning their $150 incentive. Well Wisconsin participants also experienced valuable and real health improvements.
ETF recently hosted the annual open enrollment kickoff meetings and Q&A sessions for plan year 2025. Recordings are now available for state and local employers.
