ICI is a voluntary “income replacement” benefit payable to an enrolled employee if they become disabled. This program is only
offered to employers already participating in the WRS.
The Board has extended the ICI premium holiday for 2025, based on the strong financial position of the local ICI plan. This means that employers and employees will not pay premiums for either standard or supplemental ICI coverage.
The program offers term life insurance coverage up to 5 times an employee's yearly pay for State of Wisconsin employees and local government employees whose employer offers the plan. Employees may also insure their spouses and dependent children.
