The results of the 3-year investigation of experience of the Wisconsin Retirement System are presented in this report. The investigation was made for the purpose of updating the actuarial assumptions used in valuing the actuarial liabilities of the Wisconsin Retirement System in compliance with Section 40.03(5)(b) of the Wisconsin Statutes.
It seemed like a normal Friday evening in May. It was a nice way to end a long week. Never would I have thought that during the night things would go from enjoyable to scary.

The WRS is a pension plan that is open to any public employer as defined by Wis. Stat. § 40.02(28). All employers joining the WRS must be covered by Wisconsin’s Section 218 Agreement with the SSA. The WRS is intended to provide a lifetime annuity to members who are vested and have reached minimum retirement age.
