A separation benefit is a one-time lump-sum payment consisting only of employee contributions, additional contributions (if applicable) and accumulated interest.
Eligible, retired public safety officers receiving a Wisconsin Retirement System annuity may elect to have health and long-term care insurance premiums taken from their monthly WRS annuities.
Monthly WRS annuities are payable on the first day of the month. When that day falls on a weekend or holiday, the payment date is moved to the next business day.
