New users must complete account activation before they can log in to any of the ETF Web Applications for Employers. Account activation requires you to create a password and enroll in Password Self-Service by providing answers to a series of questions. These questions are used to validate your identity when you call into ETF for password reset or when you complete an online account recovery.
To activate your account with the instructions below, you must:
Have an IAM username (i.e. smithjtxyz) under your name.
Have a temporary password provided by your Employer Case Manager.

State agencies only: For password and logon assistance, please follow your agency procedures. This may include contacting your agency Help Desk or agency IAM Security Administrator.

Enter your username and temporary password, and click the Sign in button
First, create a new password by clicking the Change my password button and complete these steps:
Enter the temporary password in the Enter your existing password field.
Create a new password using the listed criteria in the Enter new password field. Your password is case sensitive.
Type the new password again in the Confirm new password field.
Click on Change Password. You will see the Success window appear. Click OK.
Next, click on the Enroll here for Password Self-Service button to the right of the Change my password button and complete these steps:
Select a question from the drop-down menu.
Supply an answer in the Answers field. The answer must be unique and may not be repeated. Your answers are not case sensitive.
Click on the eye icon to unmask the answer and verify it is correct.
Once all questions have been selected and answers provided, click on the Update Enrollment button.
Your account is activated. Even if you don’t have anything to enter yet, we recommend logging into one of the ETF Web Applications for Employers to make sure your username and password are working.
You may receive an error when using copy/paste in the username and password fields. Please type this information.
You must change your passwords every 60 days. If it is not changed timely, your account will be locked.
Passwords are case sensitive.
The answers for your security questions are not case sensitive.
For security purposes, the answers to your security question and passwords are masked. Click on the eye icon to the right of the answer to ensure your entries are correct.
If an account isn’t used for six months or more, it will be disabled and deleted. You will need to complete a new Online Access Security Agreement (ET-8928) form to regain access. For more information, see Update Online Access.
