ETF has updated the Local Employer Verification of Health Insurance Coverage (ET-4814) form. This update means that local employers will no longer collect the forms from employees and survivors that want to continue health insurance coverage after the employee retires or dies. Coverage now continues automatically, and employees and survivors only need to complete the form to cancel coverage.

The new manual provides information about the Sick Leave Conversion Program, including that unused sick leave can be utilized as a retirement benefit that allows eligible employees to convert unused sick leave into credits to pay post-termination health insurance premiums.
Employers may choose to offer more benefits to their employees including supplemental dental, vision, accident plan, and long-term care insurance. State employers may also offer pre-tax savings accounts.
