GIB Approves Health Insurance Program Rates for 2026

Today, the Group Insurance Board set premium rates for the 2026 plan year. In addition, the Board approved the health plan service area qualifications and other benefits of the State of Wisconsin Group Health Insurance Program.

Long-Term Care Insurance

Available to state employees and retirees. Long-term care insurance covers medical services, such as nursing care or therapies. It also includes supportive services, such as bathing, dressing, getting in and out of bed, taking medicines, or preparing meals.

HSA Eligible Expenses

An eligible expense is a health care service, treatment, or item the IRS states can be paid for without taxes. Eligible expenses can be incurred by you, your spouse, or qualified dependents. The Health Savings Account (HSA) can only be used to pay for eligible medical expenses incurred after your HSA was established.
