When You are a New Hire

Log in to STAR to enroll or make changes to:

For the opt-out stipend, you must complete a Health Insurance Application/Change Form (ET-2301) to apply for the stipend within 30 days of hire.

If you are electing health insurance coverage, you must enroll within 30 days of your date of hire (in an eligible position), or first eligible appointment. You can choose for your coverage to be effective on either:

  • The first of the month on or following your hire date, or
  • The date you are eligible for an employer contribution

Check with your payroll office to find out when your employer contribution begins. If you choose to start your coverage before you receive employer contributions, you will pay the full premium.


When you Experience a Life Change Event

If you've recently had a qualifying life event, contact your payroll/benefits office for enrollment/change instructions.
