As ETF Secretary Conlin mentions in his Welcome letter, ETF has amazing people and a collaborative spirit that we use to better our work and community.

“ETF and its staff are one of the most generous organizations I’ve ever worked for. They always find ways to give back not only to our community but to each other.” –Vicki, ETF employee since 2007

ETF leadership values employee engagement. One of the ways ETF does this is through its weekly digital newsletter, ETF Community. This newsletter highlights various ETF work projects, as well as achievements such as a “Way to Go” column that give credit to staff accomplishments. The newsletter also shares news from its Wellness Workgroup and IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity Equity and Advancement) committees.

ETF takes pride in giving back to the community and offers staff opportunities to get involved with local nonprofits, including:

  • Meals on Wheels. Every week ETF staff deliver smiles and meals to those in need; more than 600 meals per year!
  • Red Cross Blood Drives. ETF staff regularly participate in blood drives, donating an average of about 200 pints of blood per year.
  • Partners in Giving is a fundraising campaign for State agency employees that benefits local, state and international non-profit organizations. ETF raises funds for Partners in Giving through a variety of creative events including potlucks, a flea market, and culture-sharing events. ETF staff routinely raises thousands of dollars for the campaign, increasing the amount each year.
""A child's drawing in an notebook with a picture of a child saying, "I want to write to you forever!"""
ETF's Pen Pal Program with Lincoln Elementary School.
  • Lincoln Elementary School. ETF's relationship with Lincoln Elementary School began when our location was a 5-minute walk to the school. Even after our move to Hill Farms, ETF staff remain committed to supporting the school and its students. Our relationship has also grown to include a popular weekly Pen Pal program, school supply drives, winter clothing drives, and an annual scholarship fund for high school graduates who were once Lincoln 5th graders. From 2016-2018, ETF staff contributed $8,000 in scholarships that helped 13 college-bound students.

ETF staff have also sponsored a wide variety of events for community engagement. These are great ways to get to know people from other divisions and offices, and have some fun both inside and outside of the workplace. Examples include: softball, cricket, bowling, Turkish coffee breaks, ugly sweater day, potlucks, walks and runs, book clubs, and golf outings.

Join our ETF community and see for yourself that it’s a wonderful place to work.
