The Wisconsin Public Employers (WPE) Group Health Insurance Program (Program) gives employers the option to select a benefit design with Uniform Benefits to offer its eligible employees. The employer can also choose to offer Uniform Dental Benefits as a part of this plan.
Employers who join the WPE Program give their current and future eligible employees and certain future retirees the opportunity to enroll.
To be eligible to join the group health insurance program, an employer must:
- Already participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System, or
- Be covered by a Section 218 agreement with the Social Security Administration
The process of joining the WPE Program takes about 120 days to complete. All groups are eligible to enroll effective January 1, April 1, July 1, or October 1 each year.
